Does Unlimited IT operate across all of Australia? +
Yes. We support businesses across all Australian states and territories, as well as clients in New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. While our team is headquartered in Queensland, we deliver remote support, helpdesk services, and project work nationally and across the Oceania region.
What is the Essential Eight and do I need it? +
The Essential Eight is a cyber security framework developed by the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD). It defines eight baseline controls that protect against the most common cyber threats. Most Australian businesses, especially those handling client data, operating in regulated industries, or dealing with government, should be working toward Essential Eight alignment. We assess your current maturity level and help you close the gaps.
How quickly do you respond to support requests? +
Response times depend on your service agreement and the priority of the issue. Critical issues are picked up immediately. We aim to respond to standard requests within the hour during business hours. Our monitoring systems also catch many issues before you notice them, resolving them in the background without you needing to log a ticket.
Do you use offshore helpdesks or overseas staff? +
No. Our entire team is based in Australia. When you call or send a message, you speak with someone local who already knows your environment. No overseas call centres, no language barriers, no repeating yourself to someone reading from a script.
How much does managed IT support cost? +
Pricing depends on the size of your business, the services you need, and how your environment is set up. We work on fixed monthly agreements so you always know what you are paying. We will assess your environment first and give you a clear proposal with no surprises. Get in touch and we can have a straightforward conversation about what fits.
Are you insured? +
Yes, fully. We carry Cyber Liability Insurance, Professional Indemnity Insurance (IT Liability), Public Liability Insurance, Office Insurance, Transit Insurance, and Workers Compensation (WorkCover). If you need certificates of currency for procurement or due diligence purposes, just ask and we will get them across to you.
What happens if we have a cyber attack or data breach? +
Call us straight away. Do not wait and do not try to investigate it yourself, because time matters. Our team will help you contain the situation, work out what happened, and get things back under control. If you are on a managed security plan, our SOC will likely already be looking at it before you pick up the phone. We will keep you informed in plain language throughout, help you meet any notification obligations under the Privacy Act, and make sure the same thing does not happen again.
Can you take over from our current IT provider? +
Yes, and we do it regularly. We manage the transition so your team barely notices it. That means documenting your environment, coordinating with the outgoing provider, and making sure nothing gets missed in the handover. Most clients are surprised by how straightforward the switch actually is.
Are clients locked into long-term contracts? +
No. Our agreements are flexible and based on your actual user and device count. If someone leaves the business or you bring on new staff, the agreement adjusts to reflect that. We retain clients through the quality of our work, not through contract terms. All we ask for is 30 days notice if you decide to move on.
Do you support businesses in regional and remote Australia? +
Yes. We support businesses in regional and remote locations across Australia, including mining sites and operations well outside major cities. Remote support covers most of what businesses need day to day. Where on-site work is needed in accessible regional areas, we work with trusted local partners to make sure you are looked after. If you are not sure whether we can service your location, just ask and we will give you a straight answer.
